This course is an introduction to contemporary performance techniques for voice, movement, and acting created by Brecht, Growtowski, Schechner, Brooks, and those they have influenced. The curriculum is designed to help you understand your own creative process, so that training happens consciously—directed by you as you develop your vision and choose your techniques. The texts of Beckett, Brecht, and Ionesco will be examined but you will be challenged to see yourself as creative initiators and may create your own performance pieces. On the final day of class, you have the option to perform for the public.
While not anticipated, schedule and course content are subject to change.
