PRODUCING PARTNERS NEEDED FOR IVANOV AND ASSOCIATED WORKSHOPS

AUGUST 2011
Anton Chekhov’s Ivanov
at H.J. Carroll Park in Chimacum on AUGUST 27 at 4:00PM.
Once a man of limitless promise, Ivanov is plunged into debt. His marriage is in crisis, and his evenings are spent negotiating loans, avoiding love affairs and fighting to resist the small town jealousies and intrigues which threaten to engulf his life. This robust outdoor production brings Chekhov’s brilliant look at a man’s mid-life crisis to astonishing heights.

Workshop One:  Chekhov for Playwrights
Using a variety of writing exercises you will explore Chekhov’s creation of character, structure, form, and plot through his use of arrivals and departures, time passage, boredom, human failings, music, war, and class.

Workshop Two: Children’s Workshop for Chekov • Play the Play
This workshop will help the student understand basic play structure and character creation through theatre games and improv and will culminate in a performance for family and friends.

Workshop Three: Chekhov for Playwrights continued.
This workshop is a continuation of part one and will be an opportunity of writers to hear their work from the previous session read by local actors.
